Dixie 5 months Old

Dixie is always so smiley and happy. She is growing so fast, I can't believe that she is almost 6 months old. These pictures were taken a day after church Dixie was 5 months old. She was so happy and cute that we had to capture the moment. She is getting used to having to pose for the camera.

Lake Powell 2009

Lake Powell '09 was a blast!
Riley tried skiing this year, he almost had it, but couldn't quite stand up. He will have it next year for sure!
Me wakeboarding, I am getting wimpier every year.
Riley learned how to kneeboard and loved it. He got a little cocky and thought that he could start doing 360's, I think he'll have to tackle that one next year.
Travis and Troy swimming. Troy loved swimming, he got really good at controlling himself in his life jacket. His favorite thing to do was to turn in circles.
Grandpa Boyd pulling us on the tube. He forgot that he was pulling Troy and got a little carried away. We were just about to fly off when he finally remembered. Travis cussed Grandpa a little for scaring Troy. Riley loved every minute of it. He was the tubing king. He never fell off, no matter how high or fast he went. He just kept asking Grandpa to go faster and make bigger waves. Dixie got left home this trip, she was lots happier being taken care of there. Next year she will get to experience Lake Powell.

My Troy Boy

I wanted to dedicate a post to my little Troy. He is such a cute little stinker, and although I may complain about him quite often, I do love him! He is so vocal and stubborn that yes, I do get frustrated with him at times. But there are so many times when he makes me smile and then I realize how those moments make it so worth being his mom. He has a smile and sparkle in his eyes that light up the room. Everywhere we go people fall in love with him. He is a real charmer! He is talking so much and learning so many new things every day. He is growing up so fast. He wants to be just like his older brother Riley, and gets frustrated when he can't do the same things. He never gives up on trying though. I love you Troy!

Troy loves to be read to and he often will find a book and pretend to read it himself. His favorite books are Thomas books. He has a few of them memorized and will recite them.

Troy has always been so easy to put to bed, but has just lately started sleeping through the night. We are working on waking up happy! On the mornings that he wakes up happy he gets to call Daddy and tell him.

Troy is a silly boy. He has a funny personality and can always find a way to make us laugh.

Troy never stops playing trucks. He loves to watch the wheels turn, but watch out if they don't turn just right, that is when the tears turn on! The minute we walk in the door he is on the floor driving his trucks and cars. They are scattered throughout the kitchen and hallway because he likes to drive them on the "hard floor". Often times he will fall asleep while driving them.
We love our Troy !

Our Blanding Trip

Every year my family, including my mom and dad, and my brothers and their families, go down to Blanding. we lived in Blanding for a few years when I was little so it is always fun to go back there. We camp in the Blue Mountains. Usually somebody is hunting turkeys, but in the down time we enjoy riding four wheelers, visiting indian ruins, and site seeing. We went on a four wheeler ride and found these Indian ruins. It is amazing to think about what their lives must have been like.

Troy found a pet Horny Toad! He called it the little dinosaur.
Troy had such a good time four wheeling. We couldn't keep him off it!This is a picture of our family in camp.
Daddy and Dixie. It was her first camping trip. She was so good!
A little too much Mt. Dew?
This is Texas Flats, a huge cliff. You can walk out onto this peninsula, cliff on both sides, and you get the most amazing view! I am scared of heights, or falling I guess, but I did pretty good at not freaking out. I did make the kids hold my hand constantly. This is a picture of the boys near the edge, none of them are afraid. It was an amazing view, but I was glad to get back on the four wheelers and leave it behind.

Dixie's Blessing

Dixie with her brothers. She is so lucky to have such good big brothers. They love her so much! Our family. I am so proud of my family. I love my husband and am grateful for all that he is. I am thankful to have such handsome boys and now a beautiful baby girl. It is such a blessing to be a mom.

It is so fun having a baby girl! I love to dress her up and take her pictures. Travis teases me about it all of the time. These are some pictures I took of her in her blessing dress. She is 7 weeks old. It was a little bright, so she has scowl on her face. I have other pictures that Julie took, they turned out really cute too, I just haven't gotten them back yet.

It is hard to get her sitting still, looking at me, and not spitting up!

People were wanting to see Dixie's nursery so I finally took some pictures. We still need to get closet doors, reupholster the chair, and the pink pin-dot valances for the window are supposed to be here in May.

The walls are all paint, no wallpaper, and the bedding is from Restoration Hardware.  Enjoy!

On November 6th I had my 20 week ultrasound.  We have been crossing our fingers for a little girl, but have been placing bets on a boy.  We found out that our little baby is a girl!  I know I posted earlier that we were probably having another boy, but I was only 13 weeks when I had that ultrasound.  I think I was looking for anything to be the little pee pee.  I didn't want to set myself up for disappointment.   Anyway, we were pretty shocked and also very excited about the news.  When I told Riley he said, "I told you so!"  He always thought that he was going to have a baby sister next, even before I was pregnant.  Throughout my pregnancy I had had a gut feeling that it was a girl, but I didn't want to let myself believe that.  Besides, it was easier to picture what another boy would be like.  But now that we know we have started thinking girl.  It has been so fun.  I already have a lot of pink stuff in the closet and we have picked out bedding and paint for her room.  Once we get her room done I will have to post a picture, I hope that it turns out as cute as I imagine.

Fall Break

During Fall Break, we took the boys up to ride the Heber Creeper.  On the way up we stopped and at Bridal Veil Falls.  It was a fun day.  The boys loved the train ride, they are both obsessed with trains.

Life...

Life is busy, but good.  I am teaching half day this year and loving it.  I have enjoyed spending more time with my kids, but I love that I still teach.  Travis is a graphic designer and loving every minute of it.  It is what he has always wanted to do.  Riley started preschool and is learning so many new things everyday.  I am amazed how fast he has grown up.   Troy is starting to talk more and more everyday.  His newest word  is no, when we tell him it's bedtime, he says no.  When we say it is time to get dressed, he says no.  He pretty much says no to everything, unless it's food.  I am fourteen weeks pregnant with our newest addition to the family.  I had my first ultrasound a couple of days ago.  My sister-n-law's mom does ultrasounds, but she isn't specialized in fetuses.  Anyway, it was fun to at least see my baby move.  We got a few shots of the baby that may have revealed that is a boy.  We are not completely positive, but we think it looks that way.  So for now, we are planning on having boy number 3!  I will keep you posted.  I will probably have another ultrasound in a couple of weeks.

Our Family September 2008

This is our latest family picture, I wanted one last one with just the two boys.  Yes, that's right, I am expecting another.  So soon we will be a family of five!!!  Riley is 4, Troy is 19 months, and baby is 13 weeks!

Moon Lake 2008

We went to Moon Lake in June with Grandma and Grandpa.  It was a lot of fun.  Riley loved fishing and canoeing, Troy loved eating and playing in the dirt.   Riley caught a fish on his Lightning McQueen pole.   It was the biggest fish caught all trip.  Troy was a little explorer and kept me busy chasing him around camp.  We all loved sitting around the campfire at night cooking smores.

Riley's Preschool Graduation May 2008

Riley started his first year of preschool last fall.  He loved it and always looked forward to preschool days.  It is crazy that I have one old enough to go to preschool.  Time goes by so fast.  He learned to write his name, his abc's, how to count, and so much more.  I know it will seem like a blink of an eye when we look back at these at his high school graduation.  I don't like to think about that.  I wish they could just stay little forever.
